BACKGROUND
Maria Sortino Gillette, an instructor and trainer since 1996 in English as a Second Language, American Culture, and Business and Intercultural Communication, created Sortino International Training in 2003, to provide a blend of training and instruction to meet the diverse needs of individuals and companies. Incorporated as an LLC in 2006, Sortino International Training has recently added an online component to its training. The American Culture Coach Program is an online interactive coaching program created to coach foreigners in the areas of American English language and business communication skills and culture. SIT is currently recruiting coaches who are US-native, experienced intercultural trainers and ESL instructors. Candidates must have experience coaching, teaching and/or training in ESL, business communication and American culture. We are currently looking for coaches who live in Asia, especially India and China, and who have a flexible work schedule.
 
 
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To coach clients online in one-hour sessions with a web camera. This work is contract-based, part-time.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coach non-native English speakers to build on their language and business communication skills and to develop their knowledge of American culture
  • Coach clients based on results from a Personal Consultation. Work towards achieving personal goals in communicating with Americans in a business environment.
  • Encourage clients’ successful interaction with US Americans
  • Use online course lessons as part of coaching strategy.
  • Recommend other resources and activities to fit clients’ learning needs.
  • Be available to answer questions by clients via email or internal message system during the duration of coaching.
  • Periodically assess clients’ progress by written and/or oral feedback.
